Managing Director, Dalman Architects

Richard Dalman is an award-winning registered architect, interior designer and Managing Director of Dalman Architects, a practice established for 28 years with design studios in Christchurch and Auckland, with clients throughout Australasia and the Pacific.

Richard specialises in hotel design. Working with owners and developers, international hotel chains, as well as independent boutique hotels, Richard is passionate about creating designs that deliver amazing guest experiences whilst achieving commercial imperatives.

Richard has worked on a number of office building to hotel conversions including Four Points by Sheraton Auckland, Scenic Dunedin City Hotel, Hotel 4 Auckland International Airport, and BreakFree on Cashel Christchurch.

Richard is a Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Architects and a recipient of the NZIA President’s Medal for his post-earthquake architectural leadership in New Zealand.
Dalman Architects is currently designing the remediation and extension of the old Noahs/Rydges hotel in Christchurch, and completing work on Hotel Indigo Auckland in association with various Australian designers.
