Julie Ockerby is the Principal Creative Director for award winning interior architectural firm, Meli Studio.

With a career history spanning over 25 years, Julie is not only a former Registered Nurse, but has also worked with some of the most innovative global boutique hoteliers. Originating her hospitality careers with Design Hotels – as Director of Marketing APAC and opening the Sydney and New York office in 1999, saw her work closely with Claus Sendlinger. Playing a pivotal role in interpreting and rolling out the consumer experience for the portfolio of signature and boutique hotels globally, Julie thereafter became highly sought after for her ability to unlock the marketability of boutique hotels through thoughtful design.

Multi-talented and holding 3 academic degrees, Julie has combined her background as a Registered Nurse together with her experience in the hotel industry to transform the aged care and seniors living industry for the better by pushing the boundaries to achieve better outcomes for our ageing population.

Julie’s approach is unique and therefore is seen as a highly regarded leader across all sectors.
